Terms of use.
Last updated · 2026-05-03These terms govern your use of larp (uselarp.com). Read them before you use the service. Using larp means you accept them. If you don't, please don't use the site.
Who we are
“larp”, “we”, “us” refers to the operators of uselarp.com. Reach us at founders@uselarp.com. Specific intake addresses for legal matters are listed in Copyright and at the bottom of this page.
Eligibility
larp is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect data from them. By using the service you confirm you are at least 13. By creating an account you confirm you are at least 13 in the United States and at least 16 in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland — or older if your local law requires it. If you are using larp on behalf of an organization you represent that you are authorized to bind it to these terms.
Use of the service
larp is provided for personal, non-commercial use. Drop photos you have the right to upload, get an editorial deconstruction back, share the result if you want. You agree not to use larp to abuse, harass, defame, or invade anyone's privacy, or to violate any law.
Don't scrape the service, attempt to reverse-engineer the analysis pipeline, run automated probes, work around rate limits, or use larp to train a competing model. Don't attempt to access non-public material (admin surfaces, unlisted decodes you don't own, request logs) or interfere with the service's integrity, security, or availability.
Accounts
Accounts are optional. You can use larp anonymously — decode fits, share decoded URLs, scroll vibes — without ever signing in. If you create an account, sign-in is via Google OAuth and we store only the fields Google returns to us (name, email, profile image). Specifics on cookies and identifiers live in the Privacy notice.
You are responsible for the security of the Google account you use to sign in and for activity under your larp profile. Don't share access. Don't impersonate someone. You can delete your own account at any time from /profile; deletion is immediate and removes your user row, OAuth account link, saved vibes, and decoded-link associations. Decodes you opted to make public stay live at their /d/[slug] URL after deletion (so any URLs already shared keep working); the link to your account is severed.
Your content
You retain all rights you have in the photos you upload and in any decode you save. We do not claim ownership.
To run the service, however, we need a license to process and display what you upload. By submitting a photo or saving a decode, you grant larp a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, transmit, render, reformat, and display that material for the purpose of operating, providing, and improving the service — including:
- Running the photo through automated analysis (vibe classification, content-safety checks).
- Storing the photo and the resulting decoded payload so the page at
/d/[slug]can render it back to you. - Generating a derivative editorial spread (the save-card PNG) from the decoded payload.
- If you opt to publish, displaying the saved decode on
/feed, the public sitemap, and any embed surface (e.g. social previews via OpenGraph images).
The license lasts as long as the material is on the service. When you delete a save, or when we remove a public decode for moderation reasons, the license over that material ends — except to the extent we need to retain copies for legal or backup purposes for a reasonable period afterwards.
You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to grant this license, that the material does not infringe any third-party right (copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or otherwise), and that any person identifiable in the photo has consented to its upload.
Acceptable use
larp accepts photos of fashion fits. To keep the site safe for everyone, the following are not allowed and will be blocked, removed, or reported as appropriate:
- Nudity, sexual content, or sexually suggestive imagery
- Photos depicting violence, gore, or weapons used to threaten
- Hate symbols, extremist imagery, or content promoting hate
- Photos of identifiable minors in any sexualized context
- Photos of identifiable people without their consent
- Copyrighted or trademarked material you do not own or have rights to
- Spam, off-topic uploads, or content unrelated to fashion
- Any content that is illegal or that would cause us to violate any law
Uploaded photos are screened by an automated content-safety system before processing. Photos opted into the public feed are screened a second time before becoming visible. Reports filed against public decodes are reviewed; three independent reports auto-hide the decode pending human review. Owners can also flip a published decode back to private at any time from the decode's page.
To report a decode that violates these rules, use the ⋯ menu on the decode itself or email abuse@uselarp.com.
Automated processing and AI
larp's core function is automated. Photos you upload are sent to a third-party model provider (Anthropic, under a no-training policy for API requests) to produce a vibe match, an archetype description, and an enumerated item list. Product alternatives are surfaced via search APIs (currently Serper) and editorial taxonomy.
Outputs are an editorial opinion produced by an automated system. They are not professional advice — not a fit consultation, not a wardrobe recommendation, not a brand or celebrity attribution, and not authentication of any product. Vibe matches, archetype copy, and item identifications can be wrong. We make no representation about the accuracy or completeness of the output. Use it as a starting point, not a source of truth.
Outbound product information (price, availability, image, link) reflects what we knew when the page was assembled and may be out of date by the time you click. We are not the seller; the retailer is.
Public decodes — platform, not publisher
When you opt to publish a save, your decode appears on /feed, the public sitemap, and a shareable /d/[slug] URL. Public decodes are user-generated content. larp is the platform that hosts them, not the author or publisher of the underlying photo. Opinions or content appearing in a public decode are those of the user who submitted it.
We reserve the right to remove or hide any user-generated content for any reason, including content that violates these terms, content that is the subject of a credible report, or content that creates legal exposure for us or for users.
Copyright
larp respects copyright and follows the procedures of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act for handling claims of infringement. Full details — including the takedown notice template, the counter-notice procedure, and our repeat-infringer policy — live on the Copyright page.
Affiliate disclosure
Some outbound shop links may earn larp a commission via affiliate networks (such as Skimlinks). The price you pay is unaffected. The taxonomy and the products we surface are editorial choices; no brand pays for inclusion. This is additionally disclosed in the Privacy notice.
Intellectual property
The larp wordmark, the named-vibe taxonomy, the editorial copy generated about each vibe, the design system (typography, chrome, layout patterns), and the underlying software are ours. Don't reproduce, redistribute, or build derivative taxonomies without permission.
The product photos, brand names, and shop URLs that appear on the service belong to the third-party retailers we link out to. larp uses them nominatively to identify products; nothing on the service implies endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation with those brands.
The save-card artifact (the editorial PNG you download from a save) is yours to share. We don't require attribution to larp on the artifact — but we appreciate it.
Service availability
larp is provided on an as-available basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice. We don't commit to any specific uptime, retention period for unsaved analyses, or feature longevity. Saved data (your account, your saved vibes, your saved decodes) we will treat as durable, subject to the deletion rights described in Accounts and Privacy.
Termination and suspension
You can stop using larp at any time. You can delete your account from /profile.
We may suspend or terminate your account, or your access to the service, at our discretion if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms — including the acceptable-use rules, the copyright policy, or the security/integrity provisions in “Use of the service.” Where the violation is not flagrant we will normally try to give notice first; flagrant or legally exposing violations may be acted on without notice.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, larp DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY OF CONTENT.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy of any output, the availability or authenticity of any product surfaced through the service, or that any URL or product information will remain valid or available. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranty exclusions; in those places, the exclusion applies to the maximum extent permitted by local law.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, larp AND ITS OPERATORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOST GOODWILL — ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, BROKEN OUTBOUND LINKS, OR PURCHASES MADE THROUGH AFFILIATE LINKS, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these terms or the service will not exceed the greater of (a) one hundred U.S. dollars or (b) the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those places, the limitation applies to the maximum extent permitted by local law.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold larp and its operators harmless from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of: (a) your use of the service; (b) your violation of these terms; (c) any content you upload, save, or publish through the service; or (d) your violation of any third-party right (including copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights).
Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE], United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in [STATE], and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction whose law gives you the right to bring a claim in your home courts, this clause does not override that right.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be surfaced in the product where reasonable; otherwise, continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance. If you don't agree to a change, stop using the service and delete your account if you have one.
Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. These terms, together with the Privacy notice and the Copyright policy, are the entire agreement between you and larp regarding the service. No waiver of any term will be effective unless in writing.
